A Twist In My Story


We made a promise to each other,
A promise that we'd always stay together,
Now as the rain washes those promises away,
To you I have nothing left to say,
As I think about the days gone by,
I wish we never had to say goodbye,
But wishes never do come true,
Because if they did today I'd still have you,
Tears always well up in my eyes,
When you walk past with a replacement by your side,
You say that everything is still the same,
If you don't notice then that's a shame,
Are you that blind that you can't see,
How you talk to everyone else but me?
But I guess I'm not supposed to reflect what's in my heart,
Because I knew this would happen right from the start,
So today,
This is all I have to say,
We've drifted so far apart,
And I don't know what to do,
But as long as you're happy,
I will be happy for you :)
